Group activities for conference attendees
Imagine you're organizing a conference in the Brainport region, your venue is set (check), and the program is all sorted out (check). Then it's time for the fun part. Are you looking for group activities for conference attendees? We share eleven activities for relaxation and inspiration!
1. Guided city tours
Could your conference attendees need some fresh air? Eindhoven247's city tours can help with that! Together with a city guide, they can explore Eindhoven even better. There are several themed walks to choose from, including the Brainport, street art, and general Eindhoven tours. Prefer cycling? Ask about the hotspot tour.
2. Discover vibrant hubs
Brainport Eindhoven is a significant innovation hub thanks to creative spaces like Sectie-C. Over 250 makers, designers, artists, and entrepreneurs work on unique projects daily. During Dutch Design Week, visitors can freely explore the studios and the rest of the year; this can be done with a guided tour. Another remarkable place is the High Tech Campus. On this smartest square kilometer in the Netherlands, about 12,500 researchers and developers work for 300 companies every day. A tour will show your conference attendees how the technology of tomorrow is being developed.
3. Meet Piet Hein Eek
Did you know that Eindhoven is the design capital of the Netherlands? The city owes this status, among other things, to the nine-day design fest called Dutch Design Week and the influx of talent from Design Academy Eindhoven. Want your conference attendees to experience design? Consider a visit to Piet Hein Eek. The alumnus gained fame for his scrap wood furniture and now has his own design empire (including studio and expo space, two restaurants, and a shop) at Strijp R—the former ceramic workshop of Philips.
4. Get a taste of Eindhoven
Even though the region focuses on the future, there's still room for traditional enjoyment, for example, during the beer tasting at Stadsbrouwerij, known for its award-winning beer, better known as 100 Watt. The local Rabauw brewers also welcome guests with open arms. Other tours and tastings include Houben's sausage roll tasting and the one at Eindhoven’s local distillery, Bottle Distillery.
5. A burst of energy
You could say that a good conference starts with good coffee. Sprout Coffee Roasters, the in-house roastery of restaurant Fifth, shares their passion and coffee knowledge in their crazy coffee courses. Because if you're going to drink coffee, it might as well be good coffee.
6. An inspiring museum visit
The region is home to numerous museums, most of which are in Eindhoven. A museum visit is easily arranged for conference attendees. Some recommendations: the Philips Museum teaches visitors about the history of Philips, the DAF Museum covers everything DAF-related, and the Van Gogh Museum in Nuenen is a must for Vincent van Gogh fans.
Discover the region
From visiting leading museums to getting some fresh air in one of the many green areas: with our tips, conference attendees discover the region to the fullest.
7. Top-notch technology
Want to introduce conference attendees to even more technology? Book a group activity at Enversed, a VR experience center with nine rooms and numerous games to play together. Need more information about the potential of game technology? Under the banner 'Game Changers,' they also offer workshops and inspiration sessions curated by Enversed Studios.
8. Trip to the future
Every day in the Brainport region, work is being done on the future. No one knows exactly what it will look like, but at the Evoluon, they dare to take a guess. Conference attendees can make themselves future-proof with a visit to the RetroFuture exhibitions. Another forward-thinking place is MU Hybrid Art Space at Strijp-S, where all (new) forms of art, design, fashion, and architecture are being discovered.
9. Cooking up a storm
In the former Philips' Machine Room, conference attendees can generate their own energy with a cooking course at the Kookfabriek. Not only a relaxing group activity but also a tasty one!
10. For football fans
PSV, the world-famous football club, started as the Philips Sport Vereniging for employees. The stadium can still be found where it all began: in the iconic Philips village. During the stadium tour, conference attendees learn more about the club and get to go behind the scenes.
11. Must-visit events
There's always something happening in the Brainport region, but if you want to impress as a conference organizer, look at the period you're organizing your conference. Throughout the year, there are leading events such as the light festival GLOW (November) and Dutch Design Week (October) in the fall, the graffiti festival Step in the Arena (June), and the Dutch Tech Festival (June) in the middle of the year. A visit to one of these events is guaranteed to impress your attendees.
